This is a gallery above Pyramid Atlantic in Silver Spring MD.
The exhibit focuses on my distinct process of creating monotypes. In addition to seven prints from 3 different series – I will include the three “plates” used as well as the metal stencils. The stencils become imbedded with ink after multiple printings and take on a life of their own as a work of art .
The “plate” is really a piece of canvas which is wrapped around an 18 X 24 zinc plate -and after multiple printings retains the residue of all these printings -creating also a sort of funky work of art in itself.
The exhibit opens Oct 2 , with a reception on Oct 6th from 1pm to 4 pm .
